“Bringing to Life the Popular Music of Earlier Times”

Milady Clare’s Musicke are a four-piece early music group, specialising in the popular music of centuries past. the band are Ruth Holiday, Lydia Vella, Graham Holiday and James McCafferty.  Their repertoire includes songs, madrigals, carols and dances from the 11th to the 18th Centuries.  They bring their unique fusion of early and traditional folk music to Oxford for the 2023 Folk Weekend.  Their concert programme blends medieval and renaissance songs, madrigal and folk harmonies, love songs and lively dance tunes, accompanied on a rather dizzying array of beautifully reconstructed early instruments.  Their concert is definitely family-friendly!
