What is the line-up for Folk Weekend 2023?
Keep an eye on the website or follow Folk Weekend Oxford on social media for breaking news.
Who are your partner organisations?
Each year we work with partners who join us every year and occasionally some new ones. This year we are partnering with Oxfolk, Arts at the Old Fire Station, The North Wall Arts Centre, Big Ginger Tom Music, The Pitt Rivers Museum and Oxfordshire County Music Service. We also work with venues such as The Covered Market, Weston Library, Westgate Central Library and Blackwell’s Bookshop
Do you just put on music?
No we do not! As well as having an amazing range of music acts both local and national, workshops, sessions, and two choirs, we also have social dances and morris dancing.
How do I buy tickets for your events?
We will list all festival events on this website, with links to buy tickets. (Events put on by our partner organisations will link to their box office.)
What does ‘pay a little less/pay a little more’ mean?
For events promoted by Folk Arts Oxford, Oxfolk and some of our partners, you will see options to pay a little less or to pay a little more. If it would be helpful to get your ticket a little cheaper, then use the pay a little less option. If you are in a position to pay a bit more, and would like to support Folk Weekend Oxford, then choose the pay a little more option. It is entirely up to you, and there are no questions or checks whatever option you choose.
Are any of your events free?
They certainly are! All local acts, sessions, and Morris dancing is absolutely free. You can see full details of all free events in the programme.
What is your Covid policy?
We want you to be able to book tickets with confidence. If you are unable to attend any event due to testing positive for Covid, then please get in touch with the ticket provider, be it us or another partner. If possible a refund may be offered
Our partner organisations may have different policies in place and you should check with them at the time of booking.
Is anything happening online this year?
Although we were delighted to get back to an in-person festival again for 2023, we recognise that many people find it very useful to be able to attend events online. Two of our shows this year will be live streamed in partnership with our friends at Live To Your Living Room
How can I get involved?
We are always looking for volunteers to help the festival run smoothly. If you would like to volunteer, then fill in our form here. (to be added soon!)
If you would like to become a friend of the festival, then get in touch here.
If you are a local performer (Oxfordshire) and you would like to be considered for a slot at future festivals, then please get in touch here.
If you are a performer from further afield and would like to be considered for future festivals, then please get in touch here.
